An image surprisingly inspired by the new video game Mirror's Edge (Xbox360/PS3), a unique take on the first-person shooter genre that is apparently high concept and innovative, but deathly short. I've seen it in action, and it's gorgeous.
The city in the game is very stark white with popping bits of color thanks to the oppressive government that has apparently taken over. I think most of the inspiration from the game is seen in this character's jumpsuit, since the rest of the image is obviously quite...pink. It's not what I had imagined for the color scheme and I had originally started with a completely different palette, but scrapped it when it started to look unconvincing and unattractive in just about every way.
Personally, I'm very happy with the result! It was nice to draw something just for me for a change (as opposed to a commission or a villain month piece or whatever - not that I don't love the commissions I have done for people, but you understand).
I hope you like it! I really dig certain things about it so perhaps I will run with this idea and make more pieces featuring the "future" in different colors and with different models/scenarios. Could be neat, actually.
Adobe Illustrator CS, about 6-8 hours total (lost track, really).
This image is (c) me, Andrew T. Green, and is not for use by anyone else in any way, shape, or form without permission from me. Remember, stealing is icky and nobody likes a thief, so don't do it.
PS: I opened up DA tonight to find that I have exactly 60,000 pageviews! Thank you so much folks, you're so awesome! Consider this image a thanks, in fact.

This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
