For day #25 of Villain Month, we go back to the 1980s with the Pac Man ghosts!
There's not a whole lot to say about them. There are four colored ghosts that follow you around and if they touch you, you die. However, you can turn the tables on them by eating the large white dots placed strategically in a couple of points in the maze. If you do that, the ghosts will turn blue and run away from you, since if you touch them, you will eat them and they will return to the center of the screen!
I never went through Pac Fever (I wasn't alive when that was the norm, and I never got addicted to it later on), but I do enjoy a good game of Pac Man, especially in the rare event that I actually find an arcade unit to play it on. Because really, that's the best way to do it.
Looking at this image now, I realize that Pac Man seems to be the villain. That poor little ghost!
The ghosts have names, but I don't remember them. Care to share if you know?
Adobe Photoshop CS, about 25 minutes total.
Pac Man and the ghosts are (c) Namco, and this image is (c) me, Andrew Green.
Oh my God, I laughed out loud at this one. I feel so bad for the little Ghost -- his expression effectively portrays his horror (and Pac Man's expression really makes him look eeeevil...) and is quite comical at the same time. Love the lighting effects and the perspective too.
I agree; Pac Man seems to be the real villain here. xD
Hehe, thanks! You know, Pac Man just kind of eats and eats and eats without any regard for the ghosts. Heck, we don't know the whole story. What if Pac Man is intruding on the ghosts' territory and eating all of their white dots?! He's so mean!

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.

I tried to make everything have kind of a "black light glow" sort of effect. I can't say it's totally successful, but the end results works.
